Sant Kartaar Singh ji did so many nagar keertans in Panjab, created so many new Sikhs using this type of parchaar. The roads where Maharaj goes are swept and washed.
If there are anti-sikhi activities going on in the park we should focus on closing them down - rather than preventing people getting Maharaj's darshan.
just a thought
everybody should get maharaajs darshan... theres lke 20 gurdwarey in Birmingham... Also there is no objection to a nagar keertan. The objection is to ending the nagar keertan in the park where the anti-sikh activities occur.
We are merely aiming to highlight areas of concern so that people from the sangat approach organisers with respect to look at ways for us to unite and look for solutions.
So many acts, sins and other "disapproved of" activities will have been done in all sorts of locations all over the world going back in history, and it would be impossible to put boundaries on which areas are "unholy" and should not be used based on that.
But the beauty of Maharaaj Guru Granth Sahib ji is that the word of God is spread with him. And surely that word has more meaning than any remnants of what went on there a few days or a few years before...?
Since God is everywhere, why are we obsessed with the physical locations of where we might read about the word of God?
I agree that we should not intentionally disrespect Guru Granth Sahib Ji by taking Him into "rave atmospheres" there and then, but I think we should not set limits and borders to where the word of God is spoken.
His word should reach every corner of the Earth.
his word could be repeated without taking guru granth sahib jio there fb_7008
but in the way you argue why dont we set up Guru Granth Sahib parkash in pubs, clubs and brothels - after all those people really need to hear the word of god and need maharaj ji's darshan.
wake up you fool this mela is messed and maharaj will be disrespected again and again unless we take a stand!
SAADH SANGAT JI - ARE WE GONNA ALLOW THE MELA ORGANISERS TO DRAG SATGURU JI THERE AGAIN?
IF NOT THEN SHAPE UP AND SIGN THE PETITION!!!!!!!

HOW MUCH MORE EVIDENCE IS NEEDED?
SIGN IT FOR GURU JI'S SAKE!
Dhan Dhan Satguru Nanak Dev Ji traveled the whole of India and the Middle East and faced many obstacles, but that still didnt stop him from his travels. Even though I have signed the petition (under the influence of "short term loss for long term gain" so that the mela can be "revised")
I however feel that instead of having the focus of the mela a "social" or "punjabi" event for it to be made a "religious" event. Where instead of Bhangra stages there are stages where kirtan is preformed, and instead of "punjabi talks", talks on sikhi are done for the youth in English and in Punjabi for the older generation.
Sikhi stalls where workshops take place for young kids, discussion tents etc and of course Garma Garam Jalebia!!!
Those are my two cents, anyone agree?
Singh lets focus on preventing beadbi for the time being
1) Either the mela organisers change the whole focus of the mela to make the atmosphere entirely spiritual - no bhangra, no fun fair - only kirtan stages, sikhi workshop and lectures...
OR
2) Do not allow Guru Granth Sahib Ji to be taken to the mela
2 very simple and reasonable options!
